The Detector Atlas editorial team documents how metal detectors actually work — search coils, target ID scales, ground mineralisation and the faults that make a machine chatter, lose depth or read wrong. We build every table from manufacturer specifications, service documentation and published compatibility listings, and we cite the source on each row. We do not field-test equipment and we never claim to.
How we review
The work is desk research done properly: manufacturer documentation, live pricing pages and the patterns that repeat across real user reviews. We say so when something is untested, we never invent a figure, and a commission on a link has never decided a verdict.
